Beginning of the courses


On 19 September, NDC Skopje team and the lecturers of the courses that are being organized in part of the Jegunovce municipality have held a regular meeting, on which it has been decided that the courses for studying English, Albanian, Macedonian and Informatics should begin on 18 October, 2006. The courses are being held in six cabinets in the schools in the village Semsovo (Advanced Informatics and Macedonian); village Zilce (Beginners’ Informatics and Albanian); village Ratae (Beginners’ English) and in the village Preljubiste (Advanced English). It is expected that these courses will be attended by more than 250 students from 5-8 grade.




Official visit of Jegunovce municipality


On 20 September, the Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom Norway, Mr. Azbjorn Brandsrud has made an official visit to the Jegunovce municipality. During the visit, several meetings have been held with the Presidents and members of the local communities of the villages Semsovo, Zilce and Ozormiste; the Director of the Central primary school in Semsovo; the Principal of the primary school in Zilce; the Mayor of the Jegunovce municipality, Mr. Toni Kocevski as well as a meeting with the ex MP from Jegunovce municipality. This visit was a good opportunity for Mr. Brandsrud to get a detailed picture of the problems and needs of the population of Jegunovce municipality, the reconstruction of the schools, as well as of the activities realized by NDC Skopje in this municipality so far. Mr. Brandsrud has been accompanied by a representative of the Embassy of the Kingdom Norway in Skopje, as well as by NDC Skopje representatives.


 


A Forum has been held from 23-26 June, 2006 in Ohrid on the topic: ”The perspectives of our community – Jegunovce municipality“.  

These were the participants of the Forum: the Manager of Lillehammer municipality-Norway, the Mayor of Jegunovce municipality, Prof. Steiner Bryn from Nansen Academy-Lillehammer, Arxhent Karai from IMG Skopje, as well as part of the employees in the administration of Jegunovce municipality, part of the parents who have been involved in the project on strategic planning and part of the Presidents of the local communities. The goal of this Forum was to exchange experiences on the structure and modes of functioning of Lillehammer municipality, discuss some of the problems the Jegunovce municipality is facing with and identifying possible solutions. NDC Skopje team and the IMG representative have made presentations on what they have realized since 2005 till now and the future projects they are planning. On this Forum, the presentation of the Manager of Lillehammer municipality had a very big importance, from which the participants have learned and were surprised how this municipality is functioning and what budget is available to it.
